What are Place-Based Strategies?

All For Kids is committed to championing Positive Prevention to combat child maltreatment. Through collaborative efforts, innovative programs, and continuous improvement, we strive to create a safe environment for children, strengthen families, build community connections, and contribute to a better world for all.

Place-based strategies are designed to improve outcomes within a defined geographic area, such as a neighborhood, city, or region, by tailoring interventions to the area’s unique characteristics, needs, and assets. Unlike one-size-fits-all approaches, these strategies integrate local culture, economy, environment, and social dynamics to create sustainable and equitable solutions for communities. They emphasize local participation, ensuring that residents, businesses, and organizations help shape priorities and solutions.

We know that our community is more resilient to child maltreatment when we foster deeper, more lasting relationships that move us all toward positive prevention.

We also know that we can’t continue to single service our way out of societal problems. That’s why we help other organizations and institutions to collaborate and function differently in a proactive way that is community engaged and sustainable. All For Kids is proud to be a thought leader and significant part of this national collective effort.
