This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:

Hi there! I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my website. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piƱa coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.)

…or something like this:

The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickeys to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.

Child Abuse Statistics

All For Kids understands how important it is for our community to be educated on child abuse in the Los Angeles & surrounding Southern California area. We put together a list of statistics pertaining to child abuse in order to help shed light on the issues our community faces.

220,000

reports of child abuse and neglect in Los Angeles and Orange Counties in 2017 and over 32 percent of these children were under 5 years old

3 million

child abuse and neglect reports were filed and 1 million were confirmed in the United States

3,000

children abused each day and four of them will die in the United States. 40% of these children were under the age of six.

It takes a variety of skills and experiences to give children the opportunities they need to succeed and you may be able to add your abilities and background to All For Kids’ resources to better support the children. If you have experience working with kids (as a social worker, child psychologist, speech language pathologist, or therapist), apply today to make a difference.

Working to help children and families in need provides a sense of gratification and appreciation that most jobs don’t offer. In addition to making a positive impact in your community and in these young children’s lives, you’ll gain invaluable work experience in these fields and more. If making a difference through your work is something you’ve always wanted to do but have never had the opportunity, learn more about employment and volunteer opportunities at All For Kids.

Havah and her husband, high school sweethearts, had always dreamed of adopting. They initially believed the journey would be financially out of reach, but life’s challenges—including the heartbreak of losing a child— led them to rediscover that dream. Through All For Kids, they found the guidance and support needed to make their dream a reality, ultimately welcoming three foster children into their home along with their two biological children. The family adopted the three children and share that each adoption brought unique experiences and challenges, as well as moments of joy and growth.

Havah speaks of her three adopted children with deep pride, describing how each child has added a new chapter to their story. Her youngest, who came to them with developmental challenges due to early neglect, has blossomed in a stable and loving home. ā€œThe positive impact of love and a consistent family environment has been profound,ā€ she shares. ā€œWatching them grow, seeing their personalities shine, and knowing they feel safe has been life-changing for all of us.ā€ Havah has also navigated relationships with each child’s birth family, embracing openness and understanding as they have built a bridge of mutual respect. She shares the many ways she fostered this connection, such as using a journal to update birth parents and creating physical keepsakes like printed photos. ā€œIt’s a simple gesture, but it’s meant a lot in keeping a respectful relationship,ā€ she explains.

What is Strong Communities?

The Strong Communities program aims to reduce the barriers families encounter in accessing support by delivering core family support services, activities, and opportunities within the Lake Los Angeles (Lake LA), Littlerock, Sun Village, and Llano areas.

Key services include assistance with applications for Medi-Cal, Cal-Fresh (EBT), and more. Furthermore, the program provides referrals and linkages to essential community services such as clothing, shoes, and food, leveraging a partnership with Antelope Valley Partners for Health (AVPH) to enhance its outreach and impact.
