Child & Family Support

U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants – USCRI

U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) is a post release support program helping unaccompanied children safely transition into homes, schools, and communities. We’re here to help families as children transition from Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) care into new homes and communities. We provide guidance, resources, and support so that children feel safe, welcomed, and ready to thrive.

What is U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI)?

USCRI Home Studies & Post Release Services (PRS) supports unaccompanied children and the family’s in the minor’s transition safely into their new homes and communities after release from an ORR (Office of Refugee Resettlement) shelter. Once enrolled, each child is paired with a dedicated case manager who provides home visit and telephone guidance and support for up to six months, or until their case reaches a natural transition point. Through personalized, culturally and linguistically responsive care, minors are connected to essential services including healthcare, mental health support, education, and legal resources. Case managers also help identify and reduce barriers to accessing these services while monitoring the child’s safety and well-being through home visits and regular check-ins. By walking alongside families during this critical transition, Post Release Services helps create stability, connection, and a stronger foundation for the future.
