Strong Communities

The Strong Communities program provides community-based prevention and family support services to families throughout the Antelope Valley and unincorporated areas. Through outreach, education, resource navigation, and family-centered events, the program works to strengthen protective factors, reduce barriers to services, and promote overall family wellness and stability.

What is Strong Communities?

Strong Communities helps families in the Antelope Valley access the support they need to thrive. Serving Lake Los Angeles, Littlerock, Sun Village, and Llano, the program offers hands-on assistance with applications like Medi-Cal and CalFresh (EBT), along with connections to food, clothing, and other essential resources. Through trusted partnerships with local organizations like Antelope Valley Partners for Health (AVPH), Strong Communities meets families where they are—removing barriers and building a stronger, more supported community. Strong Communities also offers Music Wellness workshops for preschool-aged children and their caregivers.

Services Offered:

Assistance with applying for Medi-Cal, Cal-Fresh (EBT) and other government programs
Referrals/Linkages to community services (such as AV Partners for Health)
Linkages to concrete support such as food, clothing, diapers, and more, as available
Mental Health services
Music wellness program for preschool aged children.
