Healthy Families America – Los Angeles

Healthy Families America (HFA) is a nationally recognized evidence-based Home Visiting model designed to cultivate and strengthen nurturing parent-child relationships, promote healthy childhood growth and development, and enhance family well-being by reducing risk and building protective factors. We offer weekly, hour-long home visits beginning prenatally or within the first three months after a child’s birth. Visit frequency decreases over time based on family progress, and services are offered until children are between the ages of 3 and 5.

What is Healthy Families America – Metro Los Angeles ?

Healthy Families America (HFA) supports expectant parents and families with newborns during the earliest and most important stages of a child’s life. Through weekly home visits, families receive personalized guidance on child development, bonding and attachment, and understanding their baby’s cues. The program also offers developmental and depression screenings, goal setting, and connections to trusted community resources—helping parents feel confident, supported, and prepared. Families are referred through community outreach and are eligible during pregnancy or within the first three months after birth. In addition to home visits, HFA hosts quarterly family events that create a welcoming space for parents to connect, share experiences, and build a sense of community. Together, these services help strengthen families and support a healthy, positive start for every child.
