Black Infant Health

The California Black Infant Health (BIH) Program aims to improve health among Black mothers and babies by empowering pregnant and postpartum Black women to make healthy choices for a brighter future.

What is Black Infant Health?

The Black Infant Health (BIH) Program at All For Kids provides a nurturing, culturally affirming space where Black women are supported throughout their pregnancy journey. This is accomplished through a group-based approach with complementary case management services. Through weekly group sessions and personalized care, participants build community, reduce stress, and develop skills that support healthy pregnancies and strong families. By honoring each woman’s strength and experience, BIH works to improve birth outcomes and uplift the health and well-being of mothers and their babies. Weekly group sessions help women build social support, access their strengths, make positive choices and set health-promoting goals. The goal of the BIH Program is to improve Black infant and maternal health, as well as decrease health and social inequities for women and infants.
