Family Enrichment Program

The goal of the Family Enrichment Program is to advance the development and kindergarten readiness of children 0-3 years of age while developing parents’/caregivers’ education and abilities as their child’s first teacher by: 1) providing a high quality parent/caregiver and child learning environment; 2) improving the development of children; and 3) improving parenting skills, knowledge of child and brain development, building social connections of parents/caregivers. Family Enrichment Community Program

The Family Enrichment Community Program (FECP) is a volunteer led program whose purpose is to enrich parent and child interaction. Parents who have participated in the center-based family enrichment program are recruited to become Parent Facilitators. Parent Facilitators undergo a three- month core training covering: Child Development, CPR, Protective Factors, Leadership skills, and Lesson Planning. Additionally, Parent Facilitators also attend ongoing monthly workshops and support meetings. FECP Groups meet once a week for the duration of two hours. Healthy Families America

Families are referred to the Healthy Families America Home Visitation program while in the hospital following the birth of their baby. “Welcome Baby Hospitals” can refer families to our program and others like ours if they meet the following criteria: 1) Live in a Best Start LA Community (All For Kids’ program only serves the Best Start Metro LA area which is roughly the MCI catchment area), 2) Are deemed “at risk” because they have scored higher than 50 on the Bridges for Newborns Assessment which is conducted in the hospital by a Welcome Baby Hospital Liaison. The program offers weekly home visits that include a mixture of the following elements depending on each family’s needs and receive: child development, focused support on enhancing bonding and attachment by reading baby cues, depression screenings, developmental screenings, family / parent goal planning, referrals to community resources. Healthy Start

Healthy Start is an early intervention program that prepares children and families for future success. Through prenatal and postpartum educational classes, support groups for fathers, community linkages, and direct referrals to the Mama’s Neighborhood program, we ensure that families are equipped to raise happy, healthy children.

Supportive Counseling

Supportive Counseling is offered to parents who are in need of tailored support related to parenting, co-parenting and navigation of various community resources.

Library Program

The Library Program at Magnolia Place Family Center is focused on engaging parents and children with the goal of increasing reading routines at home. The program is offered as a structured, registration-only model where two Library Program sessions meet twice a week. Each session has a max of 15 children for a safe, rich learning environment for families.

Magnolia Place Preschool

Magnolia Place Preschool (MPP) is a state-funded preschool program that provides children an opportunity to build skills in all developmental areas: Social, Emotional, Physical, Cognitive and Creative Development in a classroom setting. It also provides opportunities for parents to learn more about brain and child development through participation in parent workshops, forums and meetings. The overarching goal is to prepare 3-to-5-year-old children to enter kindergarten ready and eager to learn. The program serves low-income families who reside in Central and South Central Los Angeles and also provides family support services, such as, parenting classes and workshops, information and social service referrals, mental health and case management services through our Magnolia Place Network. MPP is offered free of charge to low-income families.  Magnolia Preschool Program is currently ENROLLING 3- to 4-year-old children. Parenting Classes

There are two different parenting classes offered. Magnolia Place Family Center offers a 10-16 week series of classes that covers a broad age-range of children using the Non-Violent Parenting Curriculum. There are currently at least three parenting class series a year. All For Kids’ NuParent Curriculum is available to parents with children ages 0-5 years out of our Magnolia and Oakwood Family Centers.

Partnership for Families

Partnership for Families consists of interventions designed to (1) prevent child maltreatment and increase child safety within the home, (2) facilitate the preservation of families at high to very high risk of child abuse and neglect, (3) develop and strengthen the community safety net, and (4) develop and strengthen parental protective factors.

Prevention & Aftercare Services

This program offers both linkages/referrals and case management. Families from the community that are eligible to receive case management are those who are in need of more intense services in parenting, behavior, basic needs support or special needs service navigation. Other Primary Prevention Services

Koreatown Youth Community Center offers free tax preparation assistance at Magnolia Place Family Center for the broader community. All For Kids staff assist with intakes and outreach for this service.
