Empowering Black Families: Celebrating Black Infant Health and Maternal Support in the Antelope Valley
Empowering Black Families: All For Kids’ Commitment to Black Infant Health
February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate Black resilience and address ongoing health disparities. All For Kids is proud to support Black mothers and babies in the Antelope Valley through the Black Infant Health (BIH) Program, serving over 130 families annually with vital resources and community connections.
Supporting Black Maternal and Infant Health in the Antelope Valley
The BIH Program provides culturally affirming support to pregnant and postpartum Black women, equipping them with stress management tools, parenting education, and a strong support network. Research shows Black infants face higher health risks, and our program works to reduce these disparities by offering guidance, advocacy, and access to essential maternal health services.
Beyond education, BIH hosts community events in the Antelope Valley that connect families to essential resources, including maternal wellness programs, parenting workshops, and healthcare support. Our goal is to ensure Black mothers feel supported, informed, and empowered throughout their journey.
Creating Meaningful Impact
In the past year, 90% of mothers reported improved stress management, 92% felt understood by our staff, and 95% built stronger support networks. These results highlight the program’s success in fostering healthier pregnancies, stronger families, and a more connected community in the Antelope Valley.
