Culver City Observer | 41st Annual President’s Invitational Golf Tournament Raises Record Funds for Children & Families in Southern California
Children’s Bureau of Southern California held its 41st Annual President’s Invitational Golf Tournament, along with a concurrent Mallets & Tea croquet event, on May 15, 2023 at Rolling Hills Country Club in Rolling Hills Estates, CA, raising a record $714,000 for programs benefiting local at-risk children and families. Title sponsor for the event was KPMG.
The golf tournament was led by Tournament Co-Chairmen Brian Ford and Steve Russell and the committee of 31 corporate and community leaders while the croquet tournament was hosted by longtime supporter Carrie Tilton. The winning foursome for the golf tournament was Ernst & Young while the croquet tournament winners were Carrie Tilton and Denise DeSantis. Jason Bosworth of Latham & Watkins scored a hole-in-one and Lawrence Park of JP Morgan and Alison McKnight of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention won the men’s and women’s longest drive contest, respectively. The day also included a dinner banquet with live music by Jason Luckett and auction.
The program included Children’s Bureau President & CEO Dr. Ron E. Brown who welcomed special guests Brittany and Jeremy Emerson, along with their children, who shared their foster care and adoption journey. In honor of the Emerson family, and the many children and families who benefit from Children’s Bureau’s work, Board Chair Matt Wilson personally matched the first $15,000 raised during the fund a need portion of the evening. All proceeds raised from the evening will help create more child, parent and community resiliency through the various programs and services offered by the agency and its 13 community sites that span Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
