All For Kids Participates as Platinum Sponsor at the Annual California Alliance of Child and Family Services Conference
All For Kids is honored to have served as a Platinum Sponsor at the California Alliance of Child and Family Services Conference, held September 3-6, 2024, in Rancho Bernardo, CA. This gathering brought together a diverse array of leaders and advocates from the child and family services sector, providing a unique opportunity to collaborate on pressing issues that impact children, families, and communities across the state.
Our organization was proud to be represented by our executive leadership team and several directors and managers who actively engaged with peers and shared their expertise. A highlight of the conference was a panel discussion led by Corina Casco, Chief Program Officer, alongside Kymberly Garrett, Chief People Officer, and Melvin Valentine, Learning Experience Manager. Their discussion focused on the critical importance of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in shaping effective programs and fostering inclusive environments for children and families. The insights shared during this panel sparked meaningful discussions among attendees, reaffirming the essential role that DEI plays in our work.
Additionally, Ron Brown, our President & CEO, joined forces with Adrienne Shilton, Vice President of Public Policy & Strategy at California Alliance of Child and Family Services, to present a workshop that traced the historical trajectory of child abuse prevention efforts. Their presentation provided a comprehensive look at the progress made at both state and county levels, emphasizing the importance of ongoing advocacy and participation in shaping future initiatives.
The conference also marked a significant moment as Ron Brown, who has served as President of the California Alliance, delivered a heartfelt address during the transition of leadership to incoming President Beth Parsons. His speech underscored the Alliance’s commitment to advancing the well-being of children and families and celebrated the collective efforts that have driven progress over the past year.
Reflecting on the past year, Ron Brown noted that despite the challenges posed by rate reform, workforce shortages, and funding uncertainties, the Alliance has remained steadfast in its advocacy. Significant achievements include securing cost of living adjustments for essential services, preserving crucial funding for mental health programs, and leading efforts to address the Foster Family Agency insurance crisis. These accomplishments highlight the collaborative spirit of the Alliance and the tireless work of its staff and members.
At All For Kids, we are proud to contribute to these efforts and remain dedicated to creating a safer, more supportive world for children. Our participation in the conference further strengthens our commitment to advocating for policies and programs that prioritize the well-being of children and families throughout California.
